CONTINUING
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROVIDERS
All Continuing Professional Education (CPE) providers must be approved and registered by the
State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) to ensure that activities offered for CPE credit support the professional growth of educators in the knowledge and skills necessary to improve student achievement in Texas public schools. Only those CPE activities from approved registered providers will be recognized for certificate renewal purposes.

SBEC is required by the
Texas Education Code to specify the period of validity for an educator
certificate, determine requirements for the renewal of an educator
certificate, and identify courses and programs that fulfill educators'
CPE requirements. The State
Board for Educator Certification has adopted requirements for continuing
education that are flexible enough to allow each educator to identify
activities that satisfy their individual goals and needs and to
continuously update their knowledge of content, best practice, research
and technology related to their roles as educators.
All questions regarding registered providers should be directed to Tabita Gutierrez at Tabita.Gutierrez@tea.state.tx.us.
